Units are the depression polygon, wavy-armed warriors in TABS. They are colored to match their squad (red or blue), save for their unique headgear, clothing, weapons, and other items at times. Nearly every unit has its own gear up of abilities which it can use. Each unit can be either a melee, a support, or a ranged unit.
AI Organization
They have a relatively simple AI system. Although AI is considered quite "basic" in the Open and Closed Alpha, Landfall has redeveloped and innovated their AI for the Early Access release of TABS. The "New" AI has been showcased in the Closed Beta. They are special soldiers, whom you identify earlier on the map before boxing.
Each Unit has their own unique AI which determines its beliefs in combat. Units with the melee unit of measurement movement type will approach their targets until they within the their weapon's range, and will back up to its maximum range when their targets get likewise close; units with the ranged unit of measurement movement type will also arroyo their targets until they are within their weapon's range, but will not back upward when their targets are too shut.
Certain units have abilities to dodge or parry, while others can charge into melee range. These abilities and behaviours should be considered when selecting and deploying your units, equally they can take a major touch on the game. Currently, units are controllable, via unit of measurement possession.
Size
Many units come up in different sizes, some are slightly taller than average, while others are quite alpine. Size is not just for show either, as information technology can change the unit'south stats such equally speed, weight and more chiefly, hitpoints - the amount of damage they could have before they die.
Hitpoints scale in the foursquare of the unit of measurement's size, then a unit with 100 hitpoints and two.00x size will accept a practical hitpoints of 400 (100 x 2.00²). This size-hitpoint scaling holds true for the opposite also.

Unit Weight
Unit weight affects the unit of measurement's resistance against knockback from enemy attacks. Depending on their role, units will take their weight assigned to show their strength. For example, a Rex has a high unit weight (12.00x) to make them seem strong, beingness unstaggered past elementary arrows while a Squire has normal unit weight (1.00x) to make them squishy and expendable. The lightness of the unit is also what makes the ragdolls fun.
Other than knockback resistance, unit weight has little effect in gameplay. It does not bear upon unit health or how fast the unit volition fall. Although said to increase the strength of units to allow them bear heavier weapons in the Unit Creator, all weapons seems to take the same weight after Full Release. Unit weight also has a much less touch on recoil resistance since then.
Googly Eyes
Units will always take googly eyes as long as they remain set to on in the options carte. Units also become 10's on their eyes (XX) when they are dead, with some units they will show (><) on their face when damaged, and normally they glimmer (--) at random intervals. All Units with eyes or other things in TABS can have variation, like Clams from the CLAMS person, or Crows from the Scarecrow. The Snake Archer'due south bow tin can also have eye variations.
Random Variation
Units can have minor variations between them that are randomly generated, mostly for aesthetics. Some of the changes include:
Slightly higher/lower hitpoints.
Slightly higher/lower harm. (Depending on the weapon, some are very inconsistent, some are not.)
Slightly faster/slower motility speed.
Slightly taller/short units.
Units with large/pocket-sized body parts.
Units with large/pocket-sized pupils/eyes, sometimes 1 large/small than the other.
Cyclops units (rare).
Multiple eyed units (more than ii eyes) (very rare).
Behemothic/tiny units (very rare).
Fatty/Skinny units (rare).
Two of these variations (depends on the variations).
Factions
Principal article: Factions In that location are a big amount of units. Each one is placed into 1 of the several factions that depict different fourth dimension periods or fantasies- Tribal, Farmer, Medieval, Aboriginal, Viking, Dynasty, Renaissance, Pirate, Chilling, and more. Each faction has near 7 units, typically including a melee infantry unit, a ranged unit, a heavy unit, and always a boss unit. Some factions volition also take support or artillery units too.
Currently there are 139 units in TABS.

Unlockable Factions
Most of the units are unlocked in the game from the outset, simply at that place is an exception for some factions. To unlock such a unit, the player must exist in Free Photographic camera Mode and search around for an item associated with the unit. Once found, the item will beginning to glow when glanced at, eventually popping to aureate grit and unlocking the intended Unit of measurement.
With the Legacy Faction the player must notice all the weapons on the Legacy map, and with the full release comes the Fantasy Good and Fantasy Evil factions. Both require the player to go to a specific location in guild to unlock. The Secret (Faction) is unique in consisting unlockable units from all factions, subconscious inside most themed maps. Directions to an unlockable unit's location can be establish on their respective pages.
